Biography

Nigel is an incoming graduate student in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Penn State. He grew up in Jersey City, NJ and received his B.A. in Psychology at Williams College in western Massachusetts. There, he worked on lab-based studies of self-injury and completed an honors thesis on teletherapy for high-risk behaviors/psychopathology. After graduating, he worked as a clinical research assistant at McLean Hospital outside Boston, where he coordinated studies on treatment personalization and prediction of treatment response. Nigel’s research interests center around processes/mechanisms of change in psychotherapy; to that end, he is curious about emotion, personality pathology, and clinical decision-making. He enjoys getting outside, listening to music, and cooking with friends.
